We’ve all known great story tellers. Their tales may captivate, but the ending gives the most satisfaction. A successful painting should deliver a similar scenario, with a story line mostly supplied by the viewer as they interpret the tale started by the artist. I like to see how understated I can make any particular painting appear. It is always harder to use less visual information in a painting. In fact, most every painting I’ve ever killed, I over painted it to death. I’d say this applies to architecture, films, fashion, books….anything that is produced from a creative mind. Less is more. Always!
