Painting the Northeast Kingdom

Just back from several days of plein air painting in Northern Vermont. I’m not a daily plein air painter, preferring the advantages of a studio setting. Since my work is an interpretation of nature, first hand referral is not necessary to my goals as an artist. But, I do consider on site painting to be a crucial tool for observation and effective painting skills. I like to work small, and most of my recent pieces were in the 8 x 10 range. These studies will likely grow into full size studio paintings in the future.

Jay I am anxiously waiting for some of the studies to come to fruition. I certainly enjoyed the first proofs. The colors are starting, maybe you should come back.
